Methodology. Each point is a verified sale or listing: price as listed, no currency conversion, realized and asking prices distinguished. Short ticks on each chart mark the annual median of realized hammer prices per currency — one tick per year with recorded sales, never connected into a line; shaded bars show the min–max range for years with three or more recorded sales. Points are added as new verified sales are recorded in the weekly market reports. Nothing is estimated or interpolated — sparse early history reflects thin auction archives before the early 2000s, not missing markets.
