Film wardrobe — not personal ownership. In Moonfall (2022), Patrick Wilson plays Brian Harper, a former NASA astronaut, and wears a 42mm stainless steel Speedmaster Moonwatch throughout the film — including a sequence where his character times a 28-minute countdown. Hypebeast, Time+Tide, and Lifestyle Asia all identified the calibre 3861 Moonwatch from OMEGA’s own promotional material for the film.
The honest footnote: one independent watch-ID analysis argues the bezel’s dot-over-90 marks it as the prior-generation hesalite reference 311.30.42.30.01.005 rather than the current 3861. We flag the discrepancy instead of resolving it — the film’s own promotional material says 3861, and the bezel says maybe-not. When sources disagree, we say so.
Either way, the casting is perfect: a disgraced astronaut reaching for the one watch NASA actually flight-qualified. The prop department understood the assignment.
