Film wardrobe — not personal ownership. Disclosure: George Clooney has been an OMEGA ambassador since 2007, so a Speedmaster on his wrist in a film is documented placement, not a personal endorsement smuggled into the plot. In The American (2010), his character Jack — a meticulous, solitary professional — wears a prior-generation Speedmaster Moonwatch, calibre 1861, on a black leather strap with a deployant clasp. Hodinkee’s dedicated article identified the generation and strap from the film’s many wrist shots; the watch gets repeated close-up screen time, including sequences of the character assembling a weapon.
